Anthony's Take: Fuji XF 18-120mm f/4 R LM PZ WR

Originally published on Lensrentals.com

Over the years, Fuji has been slowly bird-feeding their diehard users with lenses, and you can now get a taste of Fuji’s cine lenses in a more compact and user-friendly package. I wouldn’t consider this lens for your next short film, but it would be great for more documentary-style work.

The focal range hits in the sweet spot and Fuji was kind enough to throw in a quaint little servo zoom switch, which is helpful if you don’t have IBIS.

One of my biggest takeaways is that this lens wasn’t designed with stills shooters in mind. If you’re a landscape photographer or shooting slow-moving subjects, this lens may have a home in your workflow. If you’re needing any features outside of a light video lens with steady, buttery smooth zooming and focusing, I’d look elsewhere.
